SAN FRANCISCO
HOST COMMITTEE

The San Francisco Host Committee is a 501(c)(3) organization that plays a vital role in supporting the international work of the Mayor's Office of Protocol. It is composed of community members who provide financial backing to ensure the success of the city's diplomatic and cultural engagements.

The committee actively supports the Office of Protocol in hosting National Day celebrations for various consulates and welcoming visiting delegations and heads of state. We ensure that visiting Consul Generals experience the very best of San Francisco, from attending world-class performances at the Opera and Symphony to enjoying games with the Warriors and Giants. Guests are also introduced to the city’s renowned culinary scene and cutting-edge innovations, showcasing San Francisco as a leader in both culture and technology. Through its work, the San Francisco Host Committee strengthens the city’s global relationships and reinforces its role as a vibrant, welcoming hub for international diplomacy and cultural exchange. The committee’s board includes prominent community leaders, ensuring strong guidance and oversight: Thomas Horn (Chair), Maryam Muduroglu, Diane B. Wilsey, Barbro Osher and David Shimmon.
